3Cat-TV3 selects ¾ÅÒ»¹û¶³â€™s Artimo for broadcast productions

Leading Catalan broadcaster, 3Cat-TV3, acquires five state-of-the-art free-roaming robotic camera systems from ¾ÅÒ»¹û¶³ to boost productions.

Las Vegas, Nevada – Wednesday, April 2, 2025 — ¾ÅÒ»¹û¶³ today announced that TV3, the leading television channel of Catalan public broadcaster Televisió de Catalunya and a subsidiary of the Catalonian Corporation of Audiovisual Media (CCMA), recently signalled its commitment to innovation by adding five free-roaming robotic camera systems from to its video production arsenal.

Artimo (short for “Art in Motion”), launched by ¾ÅÒ»¹û¶³ at 2024 NAB Show, is a full-motion robotics camera system that captures breathtaking beauty shots while supporting a complete broadcast payload, including broadcast cameras, lenses, teleprompters, and talent monitors.

By integrating five Artimo systems, 3Cat-TV3 will significantly enhance its broadcast quality, offering viewers even more visually engaging and technically sophisticated programming. This strategic investment underlines 3Cat-TV3’s commitment to leveraging innovative technology to stay at the forefront of broadcasting.

As a free-roaming system, Artimo is agile and is engineered to move smoothly across virtually any studio floor. It can extend from ground-level angles to expansive overhead perspectives, enabling sweeping, dynamic shots and eliminating the need for additional dollies and jibs.

“We are committed to continuously improving and providing the best productions for our viewers. When we saw what Ross was doing with Artimo, it became clear that we could achieve a higher level of broadcasting with this solution. This investment and continuation of our partnership with Ross will enhance the experience of our team at TV3 too – enabling them to focus on the craft of storytelling through artistic freedom and creative control,” said Paulí Subirà Claramunt, Head Art & Directing Managing Director, 3Cat-TV3.

Equipped with cutting-edge geofencing and LiDAR technology, Artimo eliminates the constraints of traditional XY pedestals, such as targeting issues and collisions. This provides greater control, ensuring productions are both innovative and precise.

“We love working with forward-thinking organizations who have a clear goal in mind,” said Karen Walker, VP of Camera Motion Systems at ¾ÅÒ»¹û¶³. “We discussed this solution with 3Cat-TV3 before the launch, knowing the channel’s ambitions for its broadcasts, and they were keen to wait for our new product as it met all their needs. Artimo offers a future-focused solution to challenges like in-studio design and movement, cable management and minimizing downtime. It helps that Artimo is a beautifully designed product too.”

With features including a built-in touchscreen display, tally lights, and monitor brackets, which simplify setup and eliminate the need for clumsy bolt-on accessories, Artimo has already won a host of industry awards and is making technology buyers across the globe sit up and take notice.
